Concrete Demolition Contractor Los Angeles

Few things are as exciting as a new building project that’s about to begin. Whether it’s installing a new driveway or apron or pouring a new concrete patio, there is a thrilling feeling to know that your home is getting a brand new addition that no one has stepped foot on yet.

But, what are you going to do about the existing structures? All that cracked and crumbling concrete that’s hanging out around your house? You can’t pour a new driveway without getting rid of the old one first. Even if your concrete is so damaged that it’s broken into sections, it is so heavy that you can’t even lift it into your car, let alone drive it to the dump. How much concrete can your truck hold anyway

Demolishing concrete is not the kind of thing you can do by hand on a weekend. In fact, do not DIY it. So, what do you do?

Call the demolition experts.

What equipment do we use?

Not only are we licensed concrete contractors, but we also specialize in getting rid of all that pesky, unwanted concrete. How do we do it?

If you ever played with Tonka trucks as a kid, our equipment will look very familiar. However, we are not engaged in child’s play. We use the latest machinery to tear out and dispose of your old concrete.

  • Skid Steer: These compact loaders pack a big punch. With their front bucket, a skid steer can scoop up to one ton of material all at once. These are indispensable when demolishing larger projects, such as driveways and patios. They are also compact enough to fit into some tight spaces.
  • Bobcat: This is the same as a skid steer. However, the brand name has become synonymous with skid steers.
  • Back Hoe: Back hoes are the GOATs of digging. This piece of equipment digs into the ground with a bucket on an articulated arm that’s attached to the tractor. They can excavate up to 1,000 cubic yards in one day.
  • Jack Hammers: No doubt you’ve heard these on construction sites before. We use different sized jack hammers depending on the size of the job.

As the concrete is being cleared from the property, it is being dumped into specialized trailers that are built to handle very heavy material. With a standard two-car concrete driveway weighing up to 20,000 pounds, obviously all the equipment used to handle it must be heavy duty. Trailers of concrete are emptied at a waste disposal site periodically throughout the demolition process.

Worried about your carbon footprint in demolishing your concrete? Don’t. Our waste disposal sites separate materials and recycle concrete. Your old concrete will be broken down into small pieces and used in compaction in another concrete project.

Believe it or not, it only takes a day to demolish a two-car driveway. You will leave for work with an old cracked driveway and return to a large, empty expanse in front of your house.

But it won’t be empty for long. In addition to specializing in demolition, we also are concrete contractors. That means, we can frame and pour that brand new concrete driveway for you on the following day. All told, it will take about a week to demolish and install a new driveway. If you’re just replacing a driveway apron (that angled entrance to your driveway), it only takes about one day.

Who needs our concrete demolition services in Los Angeles?

Do you need to get rid of old concrete? Then, you need our demolition service. Basically any concrete that needs to be demolished, we can take care of. How much does concrete demolition cost?

When it comes to demolition, the larger the project, the cheaper the rate. Overall, you can expect to pay between $5 and $15 per square foot. If your project is less than 500 square feet, expect to pay the upper range of $15 per square foot. If your project exceeds 500 square feet, the price per square foot will go down, proportionally to the size of the project.
